Do I legally need an EPC for my commercial property?
Yes. An EPC is required whenever a commercial building is built, sold, or let. It must be made available to prospective buyers or tenants before marketing begins.
How long is an EPC valid for?
A commercial EPC is valid for 10 years from the date of issue, unless significant changes are made to the building that affect its energy performance.
What rating do I need to let my property?
Under Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES), most commercial properties must achieve at least an E rating before they can be let.
